Baseball Recap: Benicia's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Benicia and Foothill squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Benicia had to settle for second. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 10-4. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Panthers, who until this matchup were averaging four runs allowed.

Peyton Rowles made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Carlos Largaespada also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Benicia's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-9. As for Foothill, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Benicia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Foothill, they will head out on the road to challenge De La Salle at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Falcons 2.6, the Spartans 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
