Softball Recap: Don Lugo Has No Trouble Against Ontario

Don Lugo was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Ontario on Monday. The Conquistadores were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Jaguars. The result was nothing new for the Conquistadores, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Jade Curiel was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). Curiel was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Camila Franco, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

Don Lugo has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season. As for Ontario, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Don Lugo beat the Jaguars by a score of 8-2 on Wednesday.
