Baseball Recap: St. Petersburg Catholic Find Success

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Petersburg Catholic walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Shorecrest Prep Chargers on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Alex Fabelo, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Aiden Esposito was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

St. Petersburg Catholic's record is now 11-15. As for Shorecrest Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

Looking ahead, St. Petersburg Catholic will face off against Tampa Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Terrapins will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Barons surely won't give up without a fight. Shorecrest Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
