Baseball Recap: Edon Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Central, Edon was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Hilltop Cadets by a score of 9-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bombers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Lane Brandt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on 13 hits.

At the plate, Corbin Chrisman was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Korbin Olds, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

The victory was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-10. As for Hilltop, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

Coming up, Edon will take on Fremont in a tournament on Saturday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.43 runs per game on average), something the Bombers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hilltop, they will head out to challenge Hicksville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
