Basketball Recap: Tipton Comes Up Short

Tipton suffered their biggest loss since February 2nd on Thursday. They were dealt a 66-34 defeat at the hands of the New Franklin Bulldogs. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Cardinals' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

When it comes to explaining why Tipton lost, don't look at Andrew Bestgen. Despite the final result, he shot 45% from the field on his way to 16 points and eight boards. Ty Bixler was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

The loss snapped Tipton's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 17-9 record. As for New Franklin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Tipton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Franklin, they will take on Westran at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' defense better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 57 points per game this season.
