Soccer Game Preview: Battle Creek vs. Wayne County

The Battle Creek Grizzlies will face off against the Wayne County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Battle Creek managed to keep up with Richland until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Grizzlies came up short against the Raiders, falling 4-1. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, Battle Creek couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Gio Solis, who's now up to nine this season.

Meanwhile, Wayne County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 4-0 to Riverside. The match was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for Wayne County it sure didn't stay that way.

Wayne County's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Battle Creek, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1-1 and their overall record down to 6-6-1.

Battle Creek took their victory against Wayne County in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 9-0 score. Will the Grizzlies repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
