Softball Game Preview: Emerald Vikings vs. Brashier Middle College Charter Bengal

The Emerald Vikings will square off against the Brashier Middle College Charter Bengal at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Emerald is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Last Thursday, Emerald got the win against Southside by a conclusive 16-1. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Emerald got a big performance out of Jordyn Knight, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1. Emma Cline was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

Emerald always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .538 that Southside posted.

Meanwhile, Brashier Middle College Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against Blacksburg, falling 10-0.

Emerald's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Emerald suffered a grim 21-14 defeat to Brashier Middle College Charter in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
