Volleyball Recap: Davis Sr. Blue Devils vs. Folsom Bulldogs
Davis Sr. was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Folsom Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat back in September.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-27, 25-15, 25-17.
Isabella Garma-Murphy paced Davis Sr.'s offense, picking up eight kills. Garma-Murphy got some help from Juliana Van Boxtel and her 24 assists. Van Boxtel was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.
Khloe Wong had an outrageously good game for Folsom as she had 19 digs and three assists. Wong is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Kendra Hardy also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.
Davis Sr.'s loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Folsom, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.
Davis Sr. will head out to challenge Granite Bay at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Folsom, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Vista del Lago on the 2nd.
