Baseball Game Preview: Mason County Central Spartans vs. Holton Red Devils

Mason County Central fell victim to Ravenna and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Holton had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Montabella on Thursday as they made off with a 17-7 victory. The Red Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mason County Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Holton, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-9.

Mason County Central took their victory against Holton in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-0 score. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
