Preview: Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears vs. Wisner-Pilger Gators
The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears will head out on the road to take on the Wisner-Pilger Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge and three for Wisner-Pilger.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were the victim of a rough 57-33 loss at the hands of Lutheran-Northeast. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Laurel-Concord-Coleridge has scored all season.
The losing side was boosted by Carter Kvols, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolby Hansen, who scored four points along with six blocks.
Meanwhile, Wisner-Pilger lost to Clarkson/Leigh on the road by a decisive 60-43 margin last Tuesday.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Wisner-Pilger, they dropped their record down to 1-17 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything went Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's way against Wisner-Pilger in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as Laurel-Concord-Coleridge made off with a 82-61 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
