After both having extra time off, the Sunnyside Wildcats and the Torres Toros will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sunnyside will be strutting in after a victory while Torres will be coming in after a loss.

Sunnyside is headed into the game having just posted their biggest win since August 22nd on Thursday. Everything went their way against Madera South as Sunnyside made off with a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Sunnyside never let Madera South on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-14, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Torres didn't have quite enough to beat Roosevelt on Thursday and fell 3-2.

Torres wouldn't go down easily and took Roosevelt into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-20, 24-26, 25-17, 15-13.

Sunnyside's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-14. As for Torres, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

Sunnyside came out on top in a nail-biter against Torres in their previous matchup back in October of 2023, sneaking past 3-2.
