Recap: American Fork Cavemen vs. Herriman Mustangs
Even though the Herriman Mustangs scored an imposing 67 points on Thursday, the American Fork Cavemen still came out on top. American Fork secured a 71-67 W over Herriman. That's another feather in the cap for American Fork, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malcolm Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. The match was Johnson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlo Mulford, who scored 16 points.
American Fork's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Herriman, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
American Fork will head out on the road to face off against Corner Canyon at 6:20 p.m. on Friday. Corner Canyon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 67th, while American Fork is ranked 17th). As for Herriman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Provo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Provo has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 191 points over their last three matchups.
