Baseball Recap: Dundee Comes Up Short

Dundee had lost five straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 11-16 to make it six. They fell just short of the Milan Big Reds by a score of 5-4. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Big Reds earlier this season, when they won 11-7.

Dundee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Mason, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double. Another was Ben Sanders, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

As for Milan, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-18. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

On Milan's side, Ryan Hatfield was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Hatfield has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

As of now, neither Dundee nor Milan have any future games scheduled.
