Hazelwood West waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Pattonville Pirates 54-51. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 58-19 win the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2021.

Hazelwood West pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points over those games. As for Pattonville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Coming up, Hazelwood West will venture away from home to challenge Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jackson will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Hazelwood West surely won't give up without a fight.
