Lockland dropped their record down to 5-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Cincinnati Country Day Nighthawks by a score of  7-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Nighthawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  4-3  back in April.
 Trinity Hicks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and five unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been hot recently, having also posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times she's  played.
 On the hitting side,  Princess Webster was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  RBI,  and one  run. Another player making a difference was  Amiyah Jefferson, who  went 1-for-3 with three  stolen bases and two  runs.
As for Cincinnati Country Day, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.3 runs over those games.
On Cincinnati Country Day's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in:  Riley Williams gave up four earned  (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Kylee Hirschauer, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with three  stolen bases and one  run.  Liv Sweeney was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI.
 Coming up, Lockland will be playing at home against Deer Park  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 9.3  runs per game this season. As for Cincinnati Country Day, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Winton Woods  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Nighthawks are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
