Volleyball Recap: St. Ignatius College Preparatory Falls to Burlingame in First Game of Season

St. Ignatius College Preparatory unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Burlingame Panthers on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Burlingame scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-17.

Among those leading the charge was Garret Wang, who had 12 assists and five digs.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Lowell on the 25th. As for Burlingame, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 win against The Nueva School on the 27th.
