Recap: Westover Patriots vs. Bainbridge Bearcats
It was a good run, but the Westover Patriots unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 62-52 to Bainbridge. Westover was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Westover still got an impressive performance from Bryson Carter, who scored 17 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Traevion Wheeler, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Aj Grant was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with two steals for Bainbridge. Another player making a difference was Zyrell Williams, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Westover's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8. As for Bainbridge, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westover will take on the Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hardaway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday. As for Bainbridge, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Packers at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Colquitt County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 414th, while the Bearcats are ranked 121st).
