Basketball Recap: Newman Takes a Loss

Newman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rib Lake Redmen. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fighting Cardinals of the 66-39 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Newman's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Rib Lake, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Newman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-43 defeat against Columbus Catholic on the 10th. As for Rib Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 82-70 victory against Colby on the 10th.
