Basketball Game Preview: Albemarle Bulldogs vs. South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls

Albemarle and South Stanly are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Albemarle Bulldogs will be playing at home against the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Albemarle lost 80-59 to North Stanly on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 631st, while the Comets are ranked 134th).

Meanwhile, South Stanly had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 76-65 victory over the Cavaliers.

South Stanly's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Albemarle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-15.
