Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Desert Mountain walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Campo Verde Coyotes a 13-0 shutout on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolves, who have now won 23 contests in a row.

Lilly 'Goose' Goodwin made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Desert Mountain got a massive performance out of Zoe Horning, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was McKinsey Beyer, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Desert Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.

Desert Mountain's win was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-1-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Campo Verde, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-19 record this season.

Desert Mountain will take on Willow Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. Campo Verde does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
