Basketball Recap: Friday Harbor Comes Up Short

After flying high against Concrete last Tuesday, Friday Harbor came back down to earth. The Friday Harbor Wolverines took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Vernon Christian Hurricanes on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-45 back in January.

Despite the loss, Friday Harbor still got an impressive performance from Pierce Kleine, who went 10 for 25 on his way to 24 points. The matchup was Kleine's 19th in a row with at least ten points. Julius Matsumura was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Friday Harbor's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Mount Vernon Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Friday Harbor will challenge Orcas Island at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Friday Harbor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season. As for Mount Vernon Christian, they will square off against La Conner at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mount Vernon Christian comes in on four and La Conner on three.
