It was a good run, but Marcus unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hockaday Daisies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Marauders of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2023.

Hockaday's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avery Park led the charge by getting five digs and two aces. That's the most aces Park has posted over her last six matchups.

Marcus' loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Hockaday, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Marcus will challenge Argyle at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hockaday, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Richardson on the 23rd.
