Basketball Game Preview: Onsted Wildcats vs. Jonesville Comets

The Onsted Wildcats will take on the Jonesville Comets in a tournament on Friday. Onsted is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Onsted saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They came out on top against Homer by a score of 38-29. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Trojans are ranked 399th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Jonesville had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed past Hudson to the tune of 65-37 on Wednesday. The Comets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 24 points or more this season.

Jonesville now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Onsted, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7.

Onsted beat Jonesville 47-39 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Does Onsted have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jonesville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
