Baseball Recap: Brawley Victorious

While Brawley put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Central. The Wildcats walked away with a 4-0 win over the Spartans. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

The result came thanks to Sergio Garcia's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Brawley is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-8 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rane Reeves, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Brawley's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Central, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Looking ahead, Brawley will welcome Holtville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Hoover at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Spartans are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
