Austin had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Huntsville Panthers 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Black Bears: when they faced off against the Panthers on Tuesday, they had to take a 12-4 defeat.

Austin has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 40-18-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Huntsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 28-17-3.

Looking ahead, Austin will square off against Tuscaloosa County at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Black Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Huntsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
