Blake Barnes Game Report: vs La Jolla

On Thursday Blake Barnes tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The effort also marked the fewest walks (zero) Barnes has had since back in February. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his sixth in a row with less than one earned run. On the year, he has an ERA of .97 over 29 innings pitched.

Even though Barnes couldn't lead Mission Bay over La Jolla, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Buccaneers have some work to do to even out the 1-9 series between these two since April of 2019, but a win here would be a good start.
