Softball Recap: Union Finds Playoff Glory Versus Calhoun City

Union extended their postseason success on Thursday against Calhoun City. They blew past the Wildcats 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Union got a massive performance out of Destiny Moulds, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Moulds is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Tiara Campbell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Union kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.

Union has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Calhoun City, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Union beat the Wildcats by a score of 12-1 later that day.
