Basketball Recap: Foothill Takes a Loss

Foothill lost against Burbank back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Foothill Mustangs took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burbank Titans. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Foothill lost, don't look at Tomari Harris. Despite the final result, he posted 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Harris has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brandon Washington, who put up six points and six boards.

Burbank's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michael Butcher, who earned 15 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. What's more, Butcher also racked up three blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2023. Cedric Sydnor was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Burbank, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Foothill will be playing at home against Johnson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Foothill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season. As for Burbank, they will head out on the road to face off against Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Fairfield's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
