Blackford took a 14-run defeat the last time they faced off against Cowan, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bruins sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Blackhawks on Monday. That's two games straight that the Bruins have won by just one run.

The victory got Blackford back to even at 4-4. As for Cowan, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blackford will take on Eastbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season. As for Cowan, they will head out on the road to take on Marion at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Giants have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.8 runs per game on average), something the Blackhawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
