Baseball Recap: Churchill's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eagle Pass, Churchill was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Smithson Valley Rangers by a score of 4-1. For the Chargers, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 victory the Rangers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2022.

Samuel Kennedy was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Churchill is undefeated when Kennedy posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Jimi Curry also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Churchill's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-4. As for Smithson Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Churchill will host Medina Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Smithson Valley, they will be taking part in a tournament against Stevens at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
