Softball Game Preview: Derry Trojans vs. Indiana Little Indians

The Derry Trojans will face off against the Indiana Little Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Derry lost 8-1 to Knoch on Thursday. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Indiana won against Greensburg Salem on Wednesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Little Indians came out on top against Freeport by a score of 4-1. Winning may never get old, but the Little Indians sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Samantha Martin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.8 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kaylee Cass was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.

Derry's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Indiana, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Derry was able to grind out a solid victory over Indiana in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 9-5. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Little Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
