Softball Recap: South Greene Sets Scoring Season-High Against West Greene

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Greene). They put the hurt on the West Greene Buffaloes with a sharp 21-7 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

South Greene got a massive performance out of Whitney Reaves, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with six stolen bases, five runs, and one double. Those five runs gave Reaves a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madison Hensley, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple.

The victory made it two in a row for South Greene and bumps their season record up to 8-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for West Greene, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Coming up, South Greene will be playing in front of their home fans against North Greene at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the Huskies have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matches. As for West Greene, they will head out on the road to take on Unaka at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Buffaloes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rangers have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
