Orange Vista is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will head out on the road to face off against the Paloma Valley Wildcats at 3:45 p.m. Orange Vista will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Orange Vista proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Redlands East Valley 11-9.

Orange Vista got a massive performance out of Nevaeh Bachman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Bachman a new career-high in doubles (two). Jayla Holley also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Bachman wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Orange Vista kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Paloma Valley was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on Heritage with a sharp 13-4 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Kaydence Koepsell tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits (and not a single walk).
At the plate, Kennedi McGee and Laura Liera did most of the damage at the plate: McGee went 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI, while Liera went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Hailey Alarcon, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.
Orange Vista has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. Paloma Valley's record is now 9-4.
Both Orange Vista and Paloma Valley just can't seem to miss. Orange Vista has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Paloma Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Orange Vista came out on top in a nail-biter against Paloma Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Orange Vista since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
