After a string of ten wins, Upper Arlington's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to the Olentangy Liberty Patriots 32-28. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Golden Bears came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Patriots are ranked 49th).

Claire Mikola continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Olentangy Liberty, going 6 for 13 en route to 15 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Mikola is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Stackhouse, who posted seven points.

Upper Arlington's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 18-2. As for Olentangy Liberty, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.

Upper Arlington has already played their next game (against Olentangy Orange), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Olentangy Liberty will face off against Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
