Basketball Preview: Lower Richland Diamond Hornets vs. Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins
After two games on the road, Lower Richland is heading back home. They will take on the Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lower Richland scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 90-22 victory over Swansea. That 68 point margin sets a new team best for Lower Richland this season.
Meanwhile, Orangeburg-Wilkinson came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Dreher and snuck past 49-47.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orangeburg-Wilkinson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamari Williams, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mark Jamison, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Lower Richland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, their win bumped their record up to 19-5.
Lower Richland strolled past the Bruins in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 45-31. Will Lower Richland repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
