Softball Recap: Edsel Ford Thunderbirds vs. Carlson Marauders

Edsel Ford couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. Their tough 14-0 defeat to the Carlson Marauders on Monday might stick with them for a while. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Edsel Ford of the 15-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

For Carlson's part, Addison Butt was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Butt was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
