Volleyball Game Preview: Lane Tech Champions vs. Oak Park-River Forest Huskies

The Lane Tech Champions are taking a road trip to face off against the Oak Park-River Forest Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lane Tech can't be too worried about heading out to take on Oak Park-River Forest: they just beat Taft at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. The Champions came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The Champions haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Lane Tech not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Taft between 17 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Oak Park-River Forest came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Trojans.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Oak Park-River Forest got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 20-25, 25-21.

Lane Tech's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-5. As for Oak Park-River Forest, their victory bumped their record up to 20-3.

Lane Tech came out on top in a nail-biter against Oak Park-River Forest in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Champions since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
