Rural Vista [Hope/White City] had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 win over the Centre Cougars on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Heat as it put an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Centre is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Herington the next time they take the court. Centre will head out to face Herington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Rural Vista [Hope/White City] will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
