Volleyball Game Preview: Basalt Longhorns vs. Grand Valley Cardinals + How To Watch

The Basalt Longhorns will challenge the Grand Valley Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Basalt and 11 for Grand Valley.

Basalt came up short against Grand Junction on Monday, falling 3-0.

While Basalt was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Grand Junction's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-16, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Grand Valley lost 3-0 to North Fork on Friday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-16.

Grand Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Basalt, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Basalt skirted past Grand Valley 3-2 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Cardinals' Rylyn Jacobs, who had 42 digs and one assist.
