After only one run in their last matchup, Serra Catholic made sure to put some runs up on the board against Monessen on Monday. Serra Catholic was the clear victor by a 16-1 margin over Monessen. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.

Bodi Rieger was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

In other batting news, Tyler Skaggs was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jake Anderson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Serra Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive games.

Serra Catholic's record now sits at 4-1. As for Monessen, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Serra Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against Monessen: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
