Basketball Recap: Seligman Sets Scoring Season-High Against Ash Fork

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seligman). They blew past the Ash Fork Spartans 87-57 on Monday. The Antelopes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Seligman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Montae Walker led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 34 points, nine rebounds, and 12 steals. Walker is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 43 games he's played dating back to last season. Hunter Silas was another key player, going 7 for 13 from beyond the arc on his way to 32 points and five boards.

Seligman was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeffrey Trovillion, who went 9 of 16 en route to 19 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Trovillion a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josue Tellez, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 13 points and six boards.

Seligman has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Ash Fork, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Seligman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-50 win against Salome on the 22nd. As for Ash Fork, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-44 loss against Williams on the 23rd.
