Basketball Recap: Sylmar's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

Sylmar won the last time they faced Van Nuys, and Tim Tanner did his part to make sure it happened again. The Sylmar Spartans walked away with a 70-58 win over the Van Nuys Wolves on Wednesday thanks in part to Tanner, who went 9 of 20 en route to 28 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 28 points gave him a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Andrew Galvez, who posted 12 points and six boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played.

Despite the loss, Van Nuys still got an impressive performance from Jaden Gervacio, who had 21 points. Steven Tu was another key player, putting up ten points.

Sylmar's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14. As for Van Nuys, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Sylmar will take on Canoga Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sylmar is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season. As for Van Nuys, they will challenge Panorama at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Van Nuys is facing Panorama at the right time seeing as Panorama is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
