Basketball Recap: Blair County Christian Comes Up Short

Blair County Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 30-29 heartbreaker at the hands of Calvary Baptist Academy. While the Bobcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Calvary Baptist Academy 10-3 in the first quarter.

Blair County Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabi Dull, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 37.9% of Blair County Christian's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Calee Kennedy, who had six points in addition to eight boards and seven steals.

Even though they lost, Blair County Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Blair County Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Calvary Baptist Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Blair County Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-26 victory against Centre County Christian Academy on the 4th. Calvary Baptist Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Blair County Christian at 5:30 p.m. on February 25th.
