South Lamar and Sulligent are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. South Lamar will face off against Sulligent at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

South Lamar is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They came up short against Fayette County, falling 7-0.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Sulligent and Red Bay meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. Sulligent lost 6-0 to Red Bay.

South Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Sulligent, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

South Lamar was able to grind out a solid win over Sulligent when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 9-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Lamar since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
