Basketball Recap: Cherokee Christian Warriors vs. Fideles Christian Rangers
Cherokee Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fideles Christian Rangers. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 37-35 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Karma Thomas, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Medar, who had 15 points.
It was another big night for Chloe Quinn, who earned 17 points and seven steals for Fideles Christian. The game was Quinn's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Gerrard, who scored 16 points and five rebounds.
Cherokee Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Fideles Christian, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11.
Cherokee Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-26 loss against Johnson Ferry Christian Academy on the 3rd. Fideles Christian has also already played their next matchup, a 72-22 defeat against Horizon Christian Academy on the 1st.
