Football Game Preview: La Salle Falcons vs. Parkrose Broncos

The La Salle Falcons are taking a road trip to square off against the Parkrose Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Salle will be strutting in after a victory while Parkrose will be coming in after a loss.

La Salle took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past David Douglas 46-16. The Falcons' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Sean Fennell produced another solid performance rushing for 125 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries. La Salle is 2-1 when Fennell posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Sterling Dressel, who rushed for 154 yards and one TD while picking up 8.6 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: La Salle was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 459 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

La Salle didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jora Atwal.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Parkrose's offense. They lost 20-0 to Gresham on Thursday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Broncos were not able to get on the board.

Parkrose has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for La Salle, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Everything came up roses for La Salle against Parkrose in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, as the squad secured a 43-0 victory. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
