Volleyball Recap: Kealie Lane and Brynlee Ash Secure Win for Hermann

While Hermann's victory against Owensville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bearcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Dutchmen on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bearcats have posted since September 9th.

Leading Hermann to victory were Brynlee Ash and Kealie Lane. Ash had three digs and three aces, while Lane had 13 digs. What's more, Ash racked up 15 assists, the most she's had over her last 13 matchups.

They weren't the only good servers: Hermann was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They are 5-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Several Dutchmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Clara Julius, who had 13 digs and two assists.

Hermann now has a winning record of 10-9-1. As for Owensville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10-1 record this season.

Hermann wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Washington on the 6th. As for Owensville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Rockwood Summit on the 4th.
