Softball Recap: Cordova Comes Up Short

If Cordova was riding high fresh off their 9-3 takedown of Sumiton Christian on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils fell 5-1 to the Oak Mountain Eagles on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 7-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2018.

Cordova saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Khloe Herron, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Cordova's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Oak Mountain, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11.

Looking ahead, Cordova will challenge Corner at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last four games the Yellow Jackets have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Oak Mountain, they will be taking part in a tournament against Carbon Hill at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
