Baseball Game Preview: Davis Sr. Blue Devils vs. Del Oro Golden Eagles

The Davis Sr. Blue Devils will square off against the Del Oro Golden Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Davis Sr. comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Davis Sr. fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Jesuit on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Marauders by a score of 4-3.

Meanwhile, Del Oro hadn't done well against Granite Bay recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Golden Eagles walked away with a 9-5 win over the Grizzlies.

Masen Belding looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Del Oro got a massive performance out of Crosby Pilgrim, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Pilgrim a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nico Busalacchi, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Del Oro lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Del Oro's victory bumped their record up to 7-8-1. As for Davis Sr., their loss dropped their record down to 0-19.

Davis Sr. came out on top in a nail-biter against Del Oro when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
