Football Recap: Skyline Takes a Loss

Skyline extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were dealt a 42-14 loss at the hands of the Pueblo South Colts. The Falcons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Colts from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Although Skyline took the loss, they still got scores from Servando Morales and Miley Davis.

As for Pueblo South, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

A big part of Pueblo South's victory came down to the chemistry between Caeden Herrera and his top target Jake Pisciotta. Herrera threw for 378 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.7% of his passes while Pisciotta picked up 180 receiving yards and three TDs. Those 180 receiving yards gave Pisciotta a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Namon Robinson, who picked up 60 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Looking ahead, Skyline will face off against Standley Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will be up against the Gators' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.25 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Pueblo South, they will square off against Pueblo County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Colts will need to watch out since the Hornets have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
